What does it stand for?

LGBTQ+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and the + stands for more. It's a community built for people who feel different from the cisgender and heteronormativity of today's genders or sexualities.

What are some different sexualities and genders?

There are many different genders and sexualities in the LGBTQ+ community! Below you will find a brief description of each of the specific types:

  • Lesbian - women who are attracted to women

  • Gay - men who are attracted to men

  • Bisexual - people who are attracted to two genders (can be more)

  • Pansexual - people who are attracted towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity

  • Aromantic - people who don't experience romantic attraction

  • Asexual - people who don't experience sexual desires

  • Non-Binary - people who don't feel like they're exclusively male or female

  • Transgender - people whose gender identity differ from their gender assigned at birth

There are also people who identify as Demi-gender; demi-boy; demi-girl; demi-sexual; demi-romantic. The word "demi" in this context is for people who partially identify as a certain type.
